High-resolution images have showcased RIM's upcoming touchscreen BlackBerry 10 handset, rumored to be part of the L-Series lineup.
The pictures from Vietnamese site Tinhte, while not showing it switched on and running on BlackBerry 10, depict a large bezel on both the top and bottom of the phone, adding extra length to the smartphone, and making it look a bit like the back of the iPhone 5.
On the back of the device, slots for a microSIM and microSD card are present and will be hidden by the rear cover. The latter will be accessible without the requirement of removing the battery.
A camera lens and flash is placed in the top corner, while the play/pause toggle is integrated into the right hand side of the device. If the snaps are legit, the BlackBerry 10 L-Series handset will boast NFC technology, in addition to microUSB and microHDMI slots.
Apart from the first official teaser image, RIM has remained tight lipped about its handset, but has confirmed it'll reveal BlackBerry 10-powered smartphones on January 30, the day the operating system itself launches worldwide. A release date is apparently scheduled for 30 days later, contrary to analysts' predictions.

house70 Hey, look, a removable battery cover, and it's still a sexy device! See that, HTC, Motorola, Apple, etc? It can be done!Reply
I have not used a BB device before, but I wish them a good comeback with this one, just because competition is good for us.
We need specs, to have something to talk about. -
lpedraja2002 The phone looks nice, but what about the OS? I haven't seen a blackberry since the little one with the qwerty keyboard!Reply -
lpedraja2002 Bah can't delete my previous comment. The OS looks very fluid. Wow I hope blackberry manages to stay afloat with this device.Reply -
egidem _Cubase_ beat me to it. I smell a lawsuit coming from the fruity company about Blackberry's new design.Reply -
Zingam_Duo Looks nothing like an iphone, Zak Islam. iphone has large bezel, coz its design sucks. BB10 is gesture based and uses the bezel for that. While the PB cababilities weren't that impressive, the gesture based UI is by a large margin more intuitive and usable than iphone or android. So BB10 devices have the potential to be the best of all (that still survive).Reply
In many areas the iphone is a joke... :D My most favorite example (after the antenna fiasco of iPhone 4). If you hold it wrong and you put your hand over the speaker whole, you cannot hear anything.... Just for that reason - iPhone is the suckiest device ever created! :D A phone that you have to hold it right to use it... what a joker Steve Jobs was :D A real clown! The best one!
