Aerocool Intros CoolTouch-E, CoolTouch-R Fan Controllers
Looking for a new single-bay fan controller? Aerocool has introduced the CoolTouch-E and the CoolTouch-R, both of which sport a touch panel for direct interaction so that customers can make adjustments and changes more naturally. Both are on sale now for $33 and $43, respectively, and come in black and white colors.
According to the company, up to four case fans can be connected to the back of the new controller. In the front, the information is sorted and displayed on the screen. All interactions with the new fan controller are made by simply pressing on the designated area on the touch-screen.
For instance, users can change the background color of the LCD touch-panel anytime by pressing the "color" button. Both models offer the choice between background colors of red, green, yellow, blue, light blue, purple and white.
The CoolTouch-E has the largest screen of the two, measuring 100 x 25 mm. Users can control each of the four case fan channels individually by choosing the preferred channel and then adjusting the fan speed in steps between 0, 50, 75 and 100 percent.
"Each channel supports fans with a consumption of up to 20 watts," explains the company's announcement. "The CoolTouch-E indicates whether a fan is spinning or not and allows users to stop fans by pressing the power button. All common types of fan connectors are supported by the CoolTouch series, including the standard 3-pin and 4-pin PWM as well as 4-pin Molex connectors."
The CoolTouch-R has a smaller screen of only 85 x 25 mm, but offers additional functions such as an integrated temperature sensor that allows users to monitor the temperature of the CPU cooler, HDD, chipset, VGA card or the temperature inside the chassis. This sensor can be placed anywhere inside the case and mounted using supplied adhesive stickers.
The CoolTouch-R also includes a built-in card-reader and a USB 3.0 port located on the right side of the touch-based panel.

So there you go. One controller has a display stretched from side to side, and a controller with a screen, USB 3.0 port and card reader. Both are relatively cheap in price, so the only real decision to make here is whether you need another USB port in place of a larger screen.
Of course, if you want something larger than a single-bay form factor, Aerocool has plenty to choose from right here.
