Kingston HyperX Holding DotA 2, Overclocking Competitions
Kingston, maker of RAM and flash storage, will be holding two contests in the run up to CES 2014 – one eSports and the other for overclocking enthusiasts.
The HyperX DotA 2 tournament will begin later this month pitting the top 16 teams against one another for $50,000 in prizes. The final four will also be treated to a free trip to Las Vegas to compete at CES. The tournament will consist of a series of best-of-three matches with every game being broadcast live for the rapidly growing eSports streaming community.
For the overclocking competition, Kingston is collaborating with HWBOT to see who can post the highest memory frequency, Super PI and Intel XTU benchmarks beginning on October 7. Winners will be determined weekly with the five final contestants competing at Caesars Palace in January 2014 during CES, where Kingston and its partners Intel, Asus and Cooler Master will be providing the hardware.
Tom's Hardware will be at CES 2014 and will bring you the results of the overclocking competition.
