Users can save custom profiles with macro preferences and more with the SteelSeries Apex 3. The Apex 3 is wired, using a USB Type-A interface making it easy to swap between both PCs and consoles. The SteelSeries Apex 3 is not a mechanical keyboard, but its keys are rated to 20 million presses.
According to SteelSeries, the Apex 3 is an IP32 water-resistant keyboard which also gives it an extra level of protection against dust. The Apex 3 is full-sized with a numeric pad off to the side. While its keys aren't mechanical, they are rated to 20 million keypresses.
The Apex 3 gaming keyboard is capable of saving custom macro combinations to individual profiles and has a key dedicated to swapping between these profiles on the keyboard. There is also a dedicated multimedia button alongside a volume rotary encoder for media.
Rather than per-key lighting, the SteelSeries Apex 3 has 10-Zone RGB LED support. These zones can be programmed with custom colors or effects and saved to individual profiles. The brightness of the backlight LEDs can also be adjusted. It has a magnetic wrist rest that can be easily removed and reattached.
